Stacey Abrams is a Democratic politician from Georgia with 25 years of public service under her belt. Abrams became a member of the Georgia State House of Representatives in 2007, and held the position until 2017. The following year, she ran for governor of Georgia against Brian Kemp during the 2018 midterm elections. Though she lost the hotly contested election, her campaign solidified her as a star of the party. She delivered the 2019 Democratic Response to the State of the Union, and was considered at the top of the list for Joe Biden’s potential running mates in 2020.
